Some of you have noticed and even asked what is 2 Cor 5:17? Well lets start with the basics, it is a Bible verse, from the New Testament. The actual text reads like this….”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.” The Apostle Paul wrote these words about 55 AD as God was inspiring him to write a letter to the Church in Corinth. This verse along with many others became actual books in the Bible. So what does all this mean, in Christ? new creation? whats old? again, great questions to be asking yourself.
If you havent figured it out yet, I am a Christian, a disciple of Jesus Christ. My faith and Christian ethics guide and shape how I run my life as a husband, father, and business owner. So what happend to me about 8 years ago, well God came crashing into my life in a very impactful way. It was at that moment I accepted Jesus Christ for who He is and what He did for me. It was at that moment that I became a new creation. Go back to the text, Paul says, the old has gone, the new has come. He doesnt say, it will happen eventually, you will get there some day after you really clean up your life. God says through His Holy Word, that as I accept Christ my life is now transformed, I am a New Creation. Does this mean that I am now perfect, far from it, that I no longer struggle against the sinful nature, not even close. It means in Gods awesome miracle producing power He has made me new. He changed my life and my future for all eternity. Here’s to you laying down the old.
